Snow View Point is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Nainital, Snow View Point offers an enchanting view of the majestic Himalayas from a height of 2270 meters. Romance gets beautifully coupled with adventure at this point in Nainital. You can see snow-capped Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot peaks from here. A huge pair of binoculars is installed at this place facilitating the visitors in having a closer look at the mountains. It is around 3km away from the town and is reachable by a cable car/rope way from Mallital to reach this attraction in Nainital or you can easily hire a taxi, for those who love nature trails, a steep hill trek is an option too. The peak offers amazing view of beautiful town and breathtaking snow covered mountains.
Snow View Point Is situated at an altitude of 2,270 m (7,450 ft) and located atop the Sher-ka-danda Ridge (north by north-east of the town centre), is easily reachable by cable car. Charges for cable car is Rs. 150 per person, Rs. 100 for child. Charges are for stay for one hour at the point. Timings are 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on a clear day, it offers spectacular views of the snowbound high Himalaya, including Nanda Devi, Trisul, and Nanda Kot. The best time of the year for viewing the mountains is late October and November. There’s a small temple dedicated to Dev Mundi, housing images of Goddess Durga, Lord Shiva, Goddess Sita, Lord Rama, Sri Lakshmana and Sri Hanuman.

From Snow View one can walk west to another point and then continue on to the main road to Killbury. One can also continue up to Cheena Peak or head down the road to Sukhatal, passing great views of the lake en route. On the walk up to Snow View one can take a peek in the tiny Gadhan Kunkyop Ling Gompa of the Gelukpa order (of which the Dalai Lama is the spiritual head). Snow View is easily accessible by cable car which is Rs. 150 per person, Rs. 100 for child. Charges are for stay for two hour at the point. Timings are 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on a clear day
