The second edition of the Nainital Winter Carnival will kick off from December 25th. Organised by The District Administration, Uttarakhand Tourism Department, Hotel Association Nainital & Local Citizens. The festival will last till December 31st and comprise multiple events including adventure sports, War of Band, Boat competition, Fireworks, Uttarakhand Star Night, Pagal Jim Khana, Mountain Biking, Photography Competition, Paragliding, Trekking, Rock Climbing, Army Band, Laser Show & Many More…

Nainital Winter Carnival – Mountain Biking Marathon

Route: Nainital Flats to Bohra Gaon on Basani Motor road. Down hill 23km out which 11km ride painted road, 12km off road. Back from Bohra gaon to Flats 23km uphill. Total ride of 46kms.Ride will start from Nainital Flats sharp at 9:00AM. Reporting time at Flats 7:30AM. Nainital Winter Carnival – Trek to Cheena Peak[

An Altitude of 2615mt (8579 ft) approx. The highest peak of Nainital provide the challenge to the most avid trekkers. Situated about 6KM. (4Miles) from Mallital. OPEN TO ALL. It is steep uphill climb. All participants are requested to access their own physical fitness before joining the trek. Assembly at Govind Ballabh Pant statue at 7:30 AM official then to Cheena via British route. Enroute refreshment will provide. by Nainital Winter Carnival.

The NAINI PHOTOFEST is back! The Naini Photofest 2016 is here with brand new categories and a new format. After receiving an overwhelming response in its inaugural year the Photofest returns as part of the Nainital Winter Carnival 2016. Come be a part of this celebration of photography

1. Astrophotography 
Photographs of the Night Sky from anywhere in Kumaon. Star Trail photographs can also be accepted but finalists have to provide all the camera files of the photographs used to make a composite.

Terms and Conditions:-
1. Participation is open to all amateur/professional photographers residing in India
2. All photographs must have been taken in the calendar year 2016.
3. All photographs must be the original work of the photographer. The original files of the photographs must be a minimum size of 500KB. Images with small watermarks are also accepted.
4. Basic enhancements like crop/exposure/saturation/sharpness are allowed however adding or subtracting elements will lead to disqualification.
5. At the initial stage photographs need to be uploaded onto respective category’s Facebook page with details of places where they have been clicked (those without access to Facebook may please email their entries to photonwc@gmail.com). The Naini Photofest reserves the right to withhold display of photographs deemed objectionable or unsuitable on grounds of quality, subject, etc. The Naini Photofest jury will then shortlist 20 finalists from each category. All finalists will be required to submit the original camera files (JPEG or RAW) without adjustments. Failure to do so will lead to disqualification.
6. A photographer can enter multiple categories.
7. The copyright of the photographs remains with the photographer. However, the Naini Photofest will have the right to use the photographs in its publications and publicity material with due acknowledgement of the photographer.
8. All disputes will be settled at the sole discretion of the Naini Photofest jury. The decision of the Naini Photofest jury shall be final.
9. Entry implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
